Buschke Catalogue no. 3 May 1941. Not in LN. This was Buschke’s Emanuel Lasker Memorial Sale and includes about 60 “Lasker items” from 1890 to 1940. The back page has a facsimile of Dr Lasker’s handwriting annotating moves in the Euwe v Keres match of 1939/40. Sold

An early chess bibliography listing 269 items plus 2 periodicals. While this was a good effort at the time, it has many errors and omissions. £20
Bernard Quaritch Catalogue 646 from 1947. LN 152. This includes 134 chess items including a Cessolis manuscript circa 1500, a very rare 15th century French manuscript (after Bonus Socius) described in great detail in this catalogue by H J R Murray, A Damiano from George Walker’s collection, many manuscripts by W Lewis, G Walker and J Lowenthal, and many other treasures. Lyons’ Latest List No.10: New and Standard books on Chess for sale by Will H Lyons, Newport Ky. 1908. 32pp pink paper, short tear to some pages at spine, good. Lengthy descriptions of many chess books from the 1850’s to 1908. Also chessmen and other requisites. Not in Betts or LN, possibly only Cleveland has this. Sold
Maggs Bros Sports & Pastimes catalogues 883 for 1962 and 896 for 1964. The 1962 catalogue includes the first French edition of Ruy Lopez dated 1609, Hyde’s Mandragorias, 1694 and Ueber den Schackspieler von Kempelen, 1789. The 1964 catalogue includes 15 chess items mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries. Sold
